Board member nominations now open / Annual meeting on March 23rd, 2021 at the Novi Ice Arena.

The responsibility of running the Novi Youth Hockey Association lies with the Board of Directors. The NYHA Board of Directors are volunteers who give their time to serve the players and families of the Association. The Board is comprised of twelve seats. Each person who is elected to the Board of Directors serves a three-year term. These positions are staggered so that each year we have a minimum of four (4) members whose term expires.

The time has come for nominations for Board members for the upcoming election. You may nominate yourself or nominate someone who you think would make a good candidate for the Board. Serving on the NYHA Board is something that requires a commitment of your time as well as your effort. The Board of Directors meets a minimum of once per month and Board members have other duties throughout the season for which they are responsible depending on which committees and positions they are appointed.

If you or someone you know would like to run for the Board of Directors, please email your nomination to our elections chair, John Herrera, at icecats2007@yahoo.com. You may also submit the nomination in writing and return it to the Novi Ice Arena, on or before the Annual Meeting scheduled for 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 at the Novi Ice Arena. Please place the nomination into the mailbox of the NYHA office at the Novi Ice Arena.

If an election is necessary, all nominations will be forwarded to the voting members of the NYHA. Voting members include all families who are properly rostered on a NYHA team with each family receiving one ballot. These ballots will arrive and be processed electronically. The newly elected Board members will be notified once the votes have been collected and tallied.

Remember that our Association will not continue to exist or move forward without dedicated and committed volunteers to help run it. Your involvement will help us grow and thrive through this very important, rewarding role on the Board!
